The 29th Annual Summer Shorts is Back
and Shorter than Ever!
City Theatre’s signature short-play festival returns June 26–29 with 20 bold and hilarious ten-minute plays across four unforgettable nights at the Sandrell Rivers Theater.
Presented in collaboration with Villain Theater, each performance features a new lineup of five script-in-hand readings, performed by a rotating cast with live music and one very memorable host. The lineup includes four new short plays by City Theatre's HOMEGROWN playwrights.
This year, we welcome Jannelys Santos as Rhonda Sanchez, a fictional character created for the festival. Rhonda is our rhinestoned response to Florida's defunding of the arts: a sharp-tongued, patriotic parody who brings satire, sparkle, and a side-eye to the stage.
General admission is $25. Festival passes (good for all four shows) are $80. VIP tickets are $40 and include up-front cabaret-style seating and a welcome drink: Rhonda’s Red, White, and Boozy.
