Liz & Tony highly recommend seeing City Theatre's 13th Season of "Summer
Shorts."
If you have not participated in this delightful Miami tradition, each
"Summer Shorts" Program presents 8 to 10 brief, entertaining, hilarious,
sometimes ribald, sometimes moving, plays in rapid succession.
For gourmands, a great reason to see programs A & B on Saturday or Sunday,
is a delicious catered buffet meal served between shows.
An even better reason to attend both Summer Shorts Programs is they offer an
eclectic mix of plays by a dozen playwrights, including Mamet and McKeever,
presented by gifted South Florida directors, and Miami's favorite talented
actors.
Stephan Trovillian (Silence, Sheepish), Laura Turnbull (Jody's Mother, Laura
Keene Goes On), Paul Tei (Tongue Tied, On Story), Elena Garcia (Parent
Interview, A Little Chatter), and Terry Hardcastle (Home, On Story) were
brilliant in these plays. Kim Ostrenko (Home), Antonio Amadeo (In Paris, On
Story), Lindsey Forgey (On Story, Unraveled) and Nick Duckhard (My Father's
Heart, Unraveled) gave equally notable performances.
Kudos must be awarded to Stephanie Norman, executive director, for a
successful 13th year of the Summer Shorts popular series.
New this year are two programs with a different set of plays, "Shorts 4
Kids," and edgy "Undershorts," that is absolutely not for kids. Check
theatres for dates & times.
Sound promising? After seeing Programs A & B, Liz & Tony placed their
reservations for "Undershorts," running June 12-21, at the Arsht Center in
downtown Miami.
