Fall, Spring and Summer Internships

City Theatre is a professional theatre company founded in February 1996 and dedicated to the solicitation, development and production of original work by established and emerging playwrights from South Florida and throughout the nation. City Theatre’s three-part mission is: to bring the nation’s best new 10-minute plays to South Florida audiences, to expand educational outreach opportunities to under-served populations, and to create a forum and network for playwrights to learn and collaborate. Our internship program is designed to give participants experience in the production process and theatre management along with a general understanding of how a professional theater company functions. Each intern is assigned to a specific “track” to give practical experience in their personal area of focus. Students are encouraged to apply for class credit with their Theater Arts Department.

Internship Tracks:

Includes setting-up and maintaining rehearsals and production spaces, building and organizing props, and assisting during tech.  Experience with stage management, costume design, props, lighting, sound and/or carpentry is recommended. Evening availability and an interest in serving on running crew are essential to this track.
